Simon Stevens, NHS England CEO, welcomed DevoManc as ‘the greatest act of devolution in the history of the NHS’. With six billion pounds health and social care funding Greater Manchester by April 2016 and as further regional devolutions emerge post-election, the seminar explored the critical role for research and innovation in these policy initiatives.

It addressed:

  • How academic health science assets and infrastructure will drive and underpin the success of these initiatives.
  • How evaluative research can improve, validate and spread the 'Manchester
  • How DevoManc can inform the challenges and opportunities of other devolutions

The event was introduced and chaired by Mark Easton, BBC Home Editor.
