Research Fellow, Swansea University
Dr Ashra Khanom is a Research Fellow at Swansea University. Her research interests are in prevention and early intervention, working in partnership with the public to coproduce evidence based research. Her current research is focusing on high intensity callers to the 999 ambulance service using a mixed methods approach, which includes the linking of health data. Previously she has undertaken research aiming to improve the health experience of displaced people, childhood injury prevention, early intervention to prevent childhood obesity and early intervention to support mental health patients. She believes that ‘Big Data’ will have a strategic role to play in the way health and social care is delivered in the future. Previously Ashra worked as a Primary School Teacher, a Community Development Officer before coming to work at Swansea University as a researcher.
