Research should play a vital part in shaping workforce policy and practice in the NHS. Workforce capacity and capability is one of the greatest challenges for the NHS, with staff shortages, skills gaps, recruitment and retention difficulties, new roles, changes to professional regulation, and so on. This session will focus on how workforce research can make a difference, and how the workforce research priorities are identified and prioritised by funders.
