The Director of the NIHR HS&DR programme, Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone, seeks to appoint a leader in the field of health and/or social care services management and research, to undertake the duties of Deputy Director of the NIHR HS&DR Programme. The appointment is for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal for a further two years following review.

As Deputy Programme Director you will share responsibility for chairing the HS&DR funding committee and commissioning a large portfolio of research. Other responsibilities will include contributing to the strategic development of the HS&DR programme and deputising for the Programme Director.

The total time commitment to the NIHR HS&DR programme is, on average, around one and a half days per week covering attendance at meetings, providing specific advice and undertaking background and planning work. The Department of Health and Social Care will reimburse the successful applicant’s employing institution £30,000 honorarium per year.
