The Director of NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research)'s Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme, Professor Kathy Rowan, is looking to appoint two Funding Committee Chairs for the HSDR Funding Committee. It is a great opportunity to help shape an innovative and growing NIHR Programme.
Successful candidates will be leaders in the field of health and/or social care services research. These are new posts and each Chair will lead on three full Funding Committee meetings per year, plus occasional ad hoc meetings as needed.
As a Funding Committee Chair you will be responsible for leading and organising the commissioning of a large portfolio of research. Other responsibilities will include contributing to the strategic development of the HSDR Programme and representing the Programme Director, when required.
Successful candidates will have enthusiasm for, and experience of, health and social care research, including research methods; excellent communication and negotiating skills; a proven ability to chair large committees; and a track record of research leadership and involvement in commissioning research.
