Optimising clinical systems and enabling patients to self-monitor, to aid the early identification and timely management of deteriorating patients – including those with COVID-19 – in the community is a critical step in reducing avoidable deaths from all conditions. This new ‘norm’ across the NHS involves remote assessment, patient empowerment and monitoring of acute conditions and chronic diseases.
On 23 September (4-5.30pm) the Oxford AHSN is hosting a webinar showcasing examples of innovative ways to assess and manage patients in the community with suspected COVID-19. Speakers include:
- Trish Greenhalgh, Professor of Primary Healthcare Sciences, University of Oxford – Remote COVID Assessment in Primary Care (RECAP)
- Matt Inada-Kim, acute physician and national clinical Lead for deterioration/sepsis – national guidance and virtual ward wave 1 pilots
- Andy Walden, Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust – Triage Into Community COVID-19 (TICC-19) assessment and management in emergency department and primary care ‘hot hub’.
More speakers to be added. Visit the AHSN network event page for updates.
