Victor Montori, professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic, is an internationally renowned endocrinologist, health services researcher and expert in evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making. He co-developed the concept of ‘minimally disruptive medicine’ and works to advance person-centered care for patients with chronic conditions.

In his lecture he will explore how we can respond to the challenges that the industrialization of health services presents to providing compassionate care, eloquently expounded in his recent book Why We Revolt - The Patient Revolution for Careful and Kind Care. This requires health services research to focus on what happens when those who provide and those who receive care get together, adopting methods to study shared decision-making and minimally disruptive medicine.
