Peter originally did a psychology degree, before completing a PhD in general practice research at St George’s Hospital in London before making the move to health services research at the University of Manchester in 1990 as part of the National Primary Care Research and Development Centre.
He works in various parts of the NIHR infrastructure in Greater Manchester – the NIHR School for Primary Care Research, NIHR Applied Research Collaboration, as well as the REVAL and Rose NET evaluation teams and the NIHR Healthy Ageing Policy Research Unit. He is an NIHR Senior Investigator (emeritus).
