NIHR supports new partnership to revolutionise healthcare with artificial intelligence and data science

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is embarking on a programme of work with The Alan Turing Institute to harness the power of artificial intelligence to support clinical decision making to make services safer, quicker and more efficient.

The NIHR UCLH Biomedical Research Ccentre is driving the transformative Research Hospital initiative by acting as a bridge between University College London Hospitals, which will supply routinely collected hospital data, and The Alan Turing Institute, which will provide expertise in artificial intelligence to analyse the data and create algorithms to improve care and how the hospital works. The NIHR BRC will provide pivotal infrastructure, such as data warehouses and storage, and expertise in data science and advanced analytics through the researchers it supports.

The Research Hospital initiative will build on and grow exponentially the healthcare informatics research already underway at the NIHR UCLH BRC.
