Fellowship opportunity – building a learning system to support maternity care
The COVID-19 crisis has added substantially to the quality and safety challenges of maternity care, including those relating to organisation and delivery of care, clinical management, and deepening of inequalities. One promising means of addressing these challenges involves leveraging the capabilities of routine data from electronic health records to create a learning health system.
The Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute invites applications from experienced quantitative researchers to build an initial, early form of a learning system for maternity care that would be of immediate value during the pandemic and lay the foundations for further development of a full-scale system. This work should ideally provide the basis of a scalable model for developing learning healthcare systems in the NHS.
The successful applicant will remain employed by their own university.
Applications close: 2 July 2020
