The Society for Social Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting will be held in Dublin from 2-4 September 2015. The Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is designed to facilitate the reporting of new research findings, providing opportunities for younger members to present in a relaxed, friendly environment and also allowing for presentations from established names in epidemiology and health services research. It provides excellent opportunities for networking, developing and maintaining friendships and enjoying the experience.
The meetings last three days and include one or two plenary lectures from invited speakers, several highlighted talks from the authors of the top scoring abstracts (according to committee review) and parallel themed talks. There are also two lectures, named after Archie Cochrane and John Pemberton, given by well-known speakers. In addition there are always a number of poster presentations which can be viewed throughout the conference. One of the afternoons is kept free and delegates can choose between attending one of a number of workshops organised by society members or other society and trips around the local area.
