Isobel is HSR UK’s Research Project Lead and has joined the charity on secondment from the Civil Service Science and Engineering Fast Stream. During her time as part of the Fast Stream, Isobel has worked in the Department for Transport as a policy advisor looking specifically at air quality and noise pollution related to the rail industry, and most recently in the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities covering nutrient pollution and housing delivery policy.
Her background is in biology, obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Brighton, for which she wrote a dissertation on a potential novel treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease. Following this, Isobel completed a master’s degree in Applied Neuroscience at King’s College London, writing a thesis entitled “The propensity of female Syrian refugee women to access mental health support for perinatal mental health concerns”.
